You can tell it’s that time of year to be picking out your costume when the Joker123 Witch Brew start coming along with their batch of Halloween themed slots. RTG are first to the throw their pointy hat’s into the ring with the new Witches Brew slot game. Clearly they hope that the development of their games so far this year has been good enough to drag people away from stock favorites at this time of year like Blood Suckers and the Scary Rich series of games.
That’s a tall order but initial signs look like they may well have cast the right kind of spell. Witch’s Brew is an entertaining game that is easy to play. It’s going to be available download, straight from your browser and you can play from mobile devices. Most important of all, it’s available worldwide, including to players from the USA. Personally we love a good scary slot game and we will be donning our costumes in the office soon enough, in the meantime, what does Witch’s Brew have cooking for us?
No doubt about it but the old basic RTG video slot is well and truly a thing of the past. Super Six, Panda Magic, the Zanshi slot, I could go on, all this year’s games have been a cut above visually and audibly over previous generations. This is all the more impressive when you consider RTG promised a new game every month for 2016 and have duly delivered. I’m not saying these rival BetSoft slots just yet for entertainment value, but it’s getting close!
The Witch’s Brew slot takes place in a creepy brick basement. Clearly this Witch wants to be hidden away from the world to cast her magic, rather than sailing through the night on a broomstick at the Hogwarts Castle! Far from being an old hag, the witch is actually rather cute in a creepy green eyed kind of way, though dating someone who can turn you into a toad is probably a bad idea! Speaking of which, a toad is one of the high paying icons on this slot. He sits with a decidedly unamused expression alongside classic symbols of Witch’s essential recipe tools such as eyeballs, mortar and pestle, candle, cauldron and a grinning black cat.
Whilst Witches aren’t known for their party antics – the witch on this game, along with her dragon’s fang pendant, are wild on this slot game. Replacing all other symbols except for the scatters and offering an individual win of no small measure if you capture them on an active pay-line. We aren’t scared at all – this witch seems positively friendly!
With a 5×3 reel grid and 25 adjustable active pay-lines on offer, RTG haven’t messed with the structure of their standard slot games too much. Minimum bet is just 0.01 per line to open up the game for all budgets and there’s no gamble game included so you won’t be tempted! What there is available function wise is a novel three speed feature for the reel action versus the slow / turbo spin offered by other manufacturers and of course, the auto-play button for those of us too lazy to spin one at a time.
One area the game does fall down a little is in mobile form. It still plays very well and its properly optimized but the menu buttons, which of course have to be big on a small screen, are the old RTG mobile setup and they do clash visually with the rest of the game. Not that you will care as you try to track down wins completed with the Witch and the Dragon wilds, as the wilds double your win every time they help you cook one up. In order to help you come up with spells which result in 5-of-a-kind, if three wilds matching appear on reels 2,3 and 4, the reels re-spin with the wilds held in place up to a massive ten times!
The other thing to watch out for as a result of drinking the Witch’s Brew is the Goblin Blood scatter! Not only do these pesky critters pay an individual credit prize wherever they appear on the reels, they also trigger the bonus games! The free spins feature round is where the biggest spells are too, or should I say spell, as it’s one level in particular that dwarves all others. With 3,4 or 5 scatters you get 10, 25 or a massive 125 spins. One hundred and twenty-five initial spins. I had to check it twice! Yes, it will be a rarity but, the wilds appear in groups during the spins feature and the wild re-spin bonus is available, can you imagine that combination? That really would be a magic spell for the ages!
When it comes to games of witchcraft and wizardry it’s hard to be drawn away from BetSoft’s Alkemor’s Tower, especially if you are playing in the USA. That said, this is a great Halloween styled slot game and the hidden win potential is utterly mind blowing with one of the biggest initial spins triggers out there right not. Just on the chance of hitting that alone the Witch’s Brew slot is worth a spin. If you want somewhere hot to play it, check out our review of Asiabet33 Casino who are likely to have it before most other sites as a cash slot.
